The Serolsar Lake is dedicated to Budhi Nagin (???? ?????), the mother of all Nag deities such as Shesh-Nag, Kamru-Nag, Mahu-Nag, Ghunda Nag and other Nag Lords of the state. There is a temple of Budhi Nagin (old snake goddess), a holy spot next to the lake shared in my previous posts.
Serolsar Lake is located in Kullu (Tirthan Valley) district of Himachal Pradesh, at an altitude of 3,199 meters (10,496 feet) above sea level. It is surrounded by alpine forests. The water is crystal clear and local residents believe that if a leaf falls into the water, it is immediately removed by two birds which can’t be seen by naked eyes. No geographical study was able to measure the depth of the lake.
One can easily reach here through trek starting from Jalori Pass and it takes 1.5 hours to reach here.
Trek goes from a vibrant forest and pleasant atmosphere which helps you to reach your destination.
Take the pledge of keeping Himalayas clean & green without the use of plastic. Try to keep the place clean as those two birds are doing to keep the Lake clean though it is surrounded by deep forest.
