A = Analyse in Team:

Agreed. You are the boss. And you know the best. You know what is good and not-so-good for your Business. But these are different times and need is to generate different answers. So while do your best and i am sure you will. Invite team to Contribute. Sit with them (Online of course) and let each contribute Strategies and ideas to come out as a winner or at least tide over this phase. Deliberate, Question, Analyse every Idea put forth and delve on it together. Sieve out the best of them and work together in fleshing it out. Who knows, you may be surprised to get brilliance coming from unexpected corners. Don’t forget they are equally concerned today.

N = Negate the Negative:

As the poem says “Life is full with ups and downs, life is full of twist and turns” and this is an absolute unknown turn. Dreadful one. Most difficult to drive, for nobody knows what lies ahead. But then they also say “When going gets tough, tough gets going” . So let’s pitch Prose against Poetry. Let us write in capital that yes we are going to TIDE OVER THIS. Because you as a Leader will be passing on a said : unsaid message to your Team. And reading between the lines when lines are themselves so blurt, if it is negative, may be most demotivating for the team. So Negate the negative and Be +ve!

O = Out-do Yourself:

Testing times when waters are utmost rough ( reminds me of a poem by Tagore where he compares waves with angry, furious Snakes ). Your resilience is at test and so is your grit. You have perhaps never thought you can work for 25 hours a day or or solve the most intricate Puzzle. Because perhaps you never challenged your capabilities. And if you look around you will find ample examples of Teams working together to derive solutions to tide over. Coming out with unknown answers to unknown questions. Think - What is your bet on the next Innovation. Challenge your Creativity before you do it for your team.

R = Reach-out: Give and take help:

Yup. Collaboration is the way ahead. Inclusiveness is the new Mantra. We have spoken about it in past. Time is to Practice it. Can I add Value to my client and also my suppliers without expecting anything (absolutely anything) in return? Well difficult but not impossible. For all of us we are sailing in the same boat with a big hole in the middle. Whoever and wherever in the boat plugs the hole can save life for all. Else we all drown together. We must reach out both for asking for help and lending a helping hand. Let’s say both our hands work in opposite but meaningful directions. Help and be helped! (Can you even think of helping a Competitor! Or taking her help?)

O = (Real) Out-of-Box Thinking

Unprecedented times call for unconventional approach. Think something you n e v e r  e v e n  t h o u g h t of thinking. Like said above challenge yourself in a team and come out with alternative which never was. Imagine someone holding pistol to your head and says answer or perish - What could be that Answer?

C = Competition

Your one eye should be on Competition. Yes it is sad, but the weak are likely to succumb early. It is possible that not everyone will be able to stand the tide. You will have to think how can you can serve his Customers and add Value to them. So let one of your Strategy be – Serving Competitors Customers; who may need support in case your competitor ceases to exist.
