Developing Urban Farming by Cooperatives System from Greenery Spaces to Public Gardens in Expressing the Identity of Entrepreneurial Places

As guidelines to Enhance Resilience Sustainability Fundraising from all possible Sources

We invited local government, business, and community stakeholders to participate in this presentation and discussion forum. We believe that open discussion, transparent, democratic public forum of knowledge-based economic development issues focusing on startups and running small businesses are the best way to preserve and advance a region’s unique business, technology, natural, agricultural, and historical assets. It’s also the best way to build, renew, invent, develop, grow, and empower a brighter, better future for all.

This theme is about Green-space Governance, particularly urban farming. It's only the example case of a national program that we lifted at this moment but in general prediction, it will be being a trigger for many goals that can be achieved through this program especially to enhance urban economy, urban resilience. and disaster city protection.

The content of discussions started from the chance of startups as a trigger to enhance, increase and influence the urban economy on a national scale. We strongly believe that the startups have much potential value to fill the gap (or to be an influencer to complete the relevant technology, and attract funding and accelerator in implementing PPPP through 3M+E) between formal and informal sectors to make the national program more sustainable and resilient.

**MMM+E (3M+E): Manage, Maintain, Monitor, Evaluate

According to this background, we need to get some support from the Local Government in terms of Political will wherein as a guideline to achieve sustainability and resilience from the main goal itself for future best practice purposes.

We are starting by giving an explanation and example about how is significant to do spatial exploration to make optimization from abandoned spaces & places for farming activities in urban areas … rather than doing farming activities in urban land. For an overview, we gave some illustrations between developed farming in the New Town area Vs Existing Town. How was significant development can be influenced by this phenomenon and why should it to get more attention? According to this case, we also invited the Chairman of IAI Jakarta, Steve JM, IAI as one of the special moderators on stage during the event. He gave some critical points like general advice for the next action purpose.

Furthermore, the understanding of spatial exploration based on the real main purpose of the definition of urban farming itself, wherein "Food security for City inhabitant, increase climate finance and GDP, enhance & strengthen the collaboration, partnership & participation (filling the gap/ as a bridge) among Government, Private, Informal Sector, Entrepreneurial parties".

We also gave some 3 (three) examples of abandoned spaces and places as a general overview for making spatial exploration more optimal, for instance, started from:

(1) Open space (riverside, aisle, public garden, yard, etc)

(2) Buildings (school, office, commercial mix-use, public & private buildings, etc)

(3) Infrastructure (bridge, port, along with rail station, station, etc)

.....and the interesting point is when the startups and SMEs possible to get involved in national programs like "Urban Farming". Where and when are their position should be...

In this case, we introduced about "Cooperative System" from Minnesota, US practice for Jakarta, Indonesia as a solution to make interconnection among startups and SMEs through a national program.

The cooperative system is one of the supporting tools which very possible to apply by doing adjustments based on the characteristic of each county focusing on the startup's core business competencies. Through this "SERIAL (1), we want to convey how to make spatial exploration effective, efficient & productive from concept until operational and maintenance by involving many cross-professional disciplinary fields like architects, planners, startup consulting, property & project management, other engineers, developers, government and other informal sectors in one package national program. By doing Collaborating in many programs highlighted that many community issues are interconnected thus no one is left behind.

Regarding this involvement from the cross-professional disciplinary field, we invited Pak Raswari Anuaris as a Chairman of PIPI (Persatuan Insinyur Professional Indonesia). He gave his speech on stage regarding the significance of having certifications for engineers in order to get professional work-ship recognition. On the other hand, the common occurrence like issue and fact usually came up as obstacles for some startups before they can survive longer. These all things need some help or assistance from some experts as a facilitator, an advisory or mentor who can give some consultation, training and acting as an expert who is able as a "bridge" among parties and stakeholders.

As consulting for startups, we also strongly believe, that understanding the timeline of doing startups businesses are so very important. It's needed a spare time to survive until the operational can stable and possible to do some continuous improvement and contentiously make a stand. In this stage, the government can give their support by giving the incentive period for tax purpose until the profit margin reaches to the certain of a level. (Source: Startup Funding by Nicolaj H. Nielsen; Copenhagen).

Dairy Goat Breeding Acceleration Program to Improve Genetic Quality and Milk Production in Indonesia

Rice production is a common baseline to use for all activities simply because of both the crop characteristics and it also allows a good baseline to work from on the back of a napkin. Water is limited and most urban/peri urban blocks in Yogyakarta are rain fed, with some access to flood irrigation. during dry season there is shortages. Most farmers will grow rice during the wet season, also there is less issues with Organisme Pengganiggu Tumbuhan (OPT/IPM) found with other crops during this time. I generally encourage people to run the numbers for 1000m2 of padi ciherang at best yield?of 1100kg. Price typically is only 4500rp/kg but lets assume they get 6000Rp/kg and Days to Harvest is say 125 days.So under ideal perfect world the max they can earn as a farmer is gross revenue of approx 52 rp/m2/dayI In reality I would expect between 15 to 20rp/m2/day gross revenue for urban and periurban. And the reality is actually lower and is normally about 5 to 10Rp/m2/day. In case people missed it... green space design is not profitable nor is it farming. we first need to work on profitable modern urban farming for the spaces we already have.

Mantap Ibu.? Although? we are based in Yogyakarta, it would be interesting to hear from people who are modern urban farmers in Indonesia.? As in people who have a horse in the race to say, and their own money on the table. The following is a guide to our own metrics which we use for our urban farming operations for a Modern Urban Farming business in Indonesia. Salam
