The?BSGE database evolved as the brainchild of UK gynaecologists keen to?improve surgical treatment?for women with?rectovaginal endometriosis.
Since its inception in 2008, it has gathered information on more than?12,000 women, allowing the?publication of the world’s largest series of women undergoing surgery, and provided outcome measures that have?helped guide and inform clinicians, healthcare strategists and patients. This lecture will discuss the history, current position, and future direction of this unique project.
Dr. Arvind Vashisht?is a Consultant Gynaecologist at University College Hospital London. He is?the Chair of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy Endometriosis Centres, responsible for?overseeing accreditation standards?for UK centres for the treatment of?complex endometriosis. Dr. Vashisht has developed national training curricula and directed national teaching programmes for advanced laparoscopic surgery.
