What do you enjoy most about working at SerbLink?

I really enjoy contributing to a platform with a strong sense of purpose, fostering a global community, and working towards a tangible impact on the socioeconomic position of Serbs. The opportunity to work on meaningful tech solutions and collaborate with like-minded individuals dedicated to the same cause is rewarding. Meeting the other members of the team has been very motivating and inspiring to see how the Serbian diaspora around the world share this common goal.

How did you join SerbLink?

I initially created a mobile application- serbspot, a platform designed to connect Serbian communities by providing a database of Serbian churches and events, along with features like forums and direct messaging. After launching and running serbspot, I came into contact with SerbLink, whose mission aligned closely with my aim of uniting and empowering the global Serbian community. Recognizing the shared goals, I decided to join forces with SerbLink, seeing an opportunity to expand on what I had built with serbspot and contribute to an even larger initiative dedicated to creating systems of opportunity for Serbs worldwide.

What is your big vision of SerbLink?

My big vision for SerbLink would be to build a thriving, interconnected global platform that not only unites Serbs across borders but also becomes a central hub for socioeconomic opportunities. I would aim for SerbLink to offer resources for education, entrepreneurship, and networking, providing members with the tools to succeed in various fields, while also preserving and celebrating Serbian culture. Ultimately, the goal would be for SerbLink to serve as the backbone of a global Serbian community, where members can support each other, share knowledge, and collectively improve their standing in the world. The platform would become a symbol of solidarity and advancement, creating opportunities for generations to come

How has your Serbian heritage shaped your identity and worldview?

My Serbian heritage has had a profound impact on both my identity and worldview. Growing up with a deep appreciation for the resilience, history, and cultural values of my ancestors, I’ve come to prioritize community, family, and perseverance. The struggles and triumphs of the Serbian people have instilled a strong sense of pride and responsibility to contribute to the global Serbian community. This heritage might also give me a unique perspective on the importance of unity and the power of collective strength. I would be motivated to ensure that Serbs around the world are connected, empowered, and supported, leading me to projects like SerbLink to make a difference on a larger scale. In essence, my Serbian heritage would be a key driver in shaping my desire to build systems of opportunity and equality for others. The Serbian community has given me so much—whether through cultural pride, support networks, or the deep sense of belonging—and that has instilled in me a profound desire to give back. I feel a strong responsibility to contribute to the growth and well-being of our community, which is what motivated me to create serbspot and later work with SerbLink. Through these platforms, I aim to create opportunities and build a stronger global network for Serbs, ensuring that future generations can thrive and remain connected to their roots.
