Seraphic Security – Why I’m Joining

For the past year, I’ve been watching the enterprise browser security space with great anticipation. It was roughly a year ago that I saw a demo of a dedicated enterprise browser and was blown away with how this simple approach could disrupt the way organizations secure and control web applications. The current approach is complex and has many holes that are actively being exploited by attackers. When you secure and control the browser much of the need for this complex technology stack is eliminated. Most security vendors lack real ROI. The ROI is substantial when you can secure and control the browser. The need for technologies like VDI and VPN goes away.

Within the last year, several dedicated browser solutions came to market. The dedicated browser’s biggest use case is unmanaged devices. Simply putting a “company browser” on the unmanaged devices offers a lot of simplicity to BYOD. The user can use their personal devices as they see fit and the organization is only responsible for the “company browser.” Where things get a little complicated is on managed devices. Forcing all users to an unfamiliar browser causes significant friction between IT and their users. This is where Seraphic Security comes in.

Seraphic Security has both a dedicated browser for unmanaged devices and a lightweight agent for all browsers on your managed devices. The lightweight agent allows IT and IT Security to secure and control any browser. Security and governance in one agent. Functions like masking PII/PHI or blocking copy and paste from the browser can be accomplished. This approach to managed devices ensures frictionless deployment.
