As the summer winds down, we’re excited to bring you a roundup of the most significant developments at Sequans and in the world of IoT and technology. This season has been filled with groundbreaking news and advancements that are set to shape the future of IoT, connectivity, and innovation.

On August 23rd, Sequans and Qualcomm reached an agreement on the sale of 4G IoT technology, with Sequans retaining a perpetual license for its ongoing use. In July, we published a blog showcasing Sequans’ pivotal role in supporting next-generation utility networks in Canada. In June, T-Mobile certified Sequans’ flagship and popular Calliope 2 Cat 1bis chips and module. Additionally, we published a blog on how Sequans collaborates with Lockheed Martin to enable Docomo to use LTE over satellite as a recovery plan during natural disasters. ?

Sequans has extensive global experience with utilities and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) companies, and is enhancing its influence in Canada through membership in Canada’s first 1.8 GHz private LTE (pLTE) utility ecosystem. The consortium, recently announced by Electricity Canada, the national forum of Canadian Electric Utilities, and Ubiik, a leading provider of pLTE systems, was established to support utility networks operating at the 1.8 GHz frequency. Certification by T-Mobile assures device makers that the technology meets T-Mobile’s performance, interoperability and feature requirements, enabling them to bring end devices to market faster.
