Yaama ‘hello’ mob, it's been a while. We're all doing well and not in too much of a rush, right? It's September now, and we've made a lot of progress in August and this month in September. You may?be stunned when you see what we've been up to!?We had the opportunity to runs some deadly workshops, welcome?a new staff member and got to finalise some fabulous design projects!?Not to mention Leticia is totally glowing - with less then 3 months left until her little one arrives.

But now where do we start... You may need to bear with us, for this Yarn & Share is going to be a longer one, as we have sooooo many amazing things to share!


Huge welcome to Lisa who has joined us as our new Graphic Designer at Leticia Anne Designs & Co.??

Lisa currently lives & works on Yuin Country from Jervis Bay - just like our sister Lauren on our team! The coolest coincidence?

Lisa brings along 20 odd years of experience as a graphic designer alongside a focus on layout work - where we have been growing in demand! But also a focus on branding and illustration (she teaches art classes outside of work with us)??Lisa is non-Indigneous however has held strong collaboration with Elders and Aboriginal community members through her previous role within designing in the tourism sector in the Shoalhaven area and brings along her beautiful personality!



Design Project Highlights

Aboriginal Housing Office - Slide Deck Template

We had the opportunity to work with Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) in developing their new slide deck/powerpoint template for their teams to easily stay on track with their new branding identity, visual direction and help lessen the load of creating from scratch. You will see some of the slide pages set up - and how gorgeous are their new brand illustrations assets.?We created the design to represent cultural values, embrace?storytelling, create a space for yarning and help maintain visual consistency whilst encompassing each slide to be unique.?With such genuine engagement, we were able to make this project and our relationship lead to better outcomes!

Positive Partnership

Positive Partnerships is a national project funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment through the Helping Children with Autism program. They are delivered by Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect).?Working together with parents, carers and educators of school-aged children on the autism spectrum to provide current, relevant and evidence informed information through workshops and online resources.Lauren designed these deadly elements to connect with their First Nations Framework, which we are in the processing of designing the layout for. We are so proud of how there turned out!?

River Dreaming Aboriginal Corporation

We just had the pleasure of working with Brett Smith, a proud Wiradjuri man living in Forbes to develop the brand identity of this empowering new business. We recently finished?wrapping up a starter branding package with River Dreaming Aboriginal Corporation last week featuring a logo package, stylesheet, business card design and 1:1 branding coaching session.?

River Dreaming Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to facilitating, sharing, and promoting the traditional knowledge, cultural values, and benefits of Caring for Country.

  • So amazing things they offer:?Deliver a series of culturally focused?Caring for Country Junior Ranger?programs to primary?school students to pass down the traditional knowledge of looking after country.
  • Deliver?River Dreaming Tours?to facilitate the sharing of traditional cultural knowledge around Caring for Country, promote the value?of?integrating this knowledge into project planning to protect, restore and enhance river health and explore opportunities for engagement of First Nations people in the sustainable management of natural resources and productive landscapes.
  • Assist in facilitating the start-up phase of Indigenous owned environmental/tourism businesses in regional communities within the Murray-Darling Basin based around the river, cultural assets, traditional land management and Connection to Country.

Pitch Day for Young People

What a fabulous couple of days! On 13th August, we took our young people in the Start-Up Deadly program to launch their business ideas to a group of other business owners, business coaches, support, and network opportunities at Yarpa NSW Indigenous Business & Employment Hub! Just gunna say it… they did a deadly job! And We couldn’t be prouder.

We are now reaching week 23 of the program - with only 3 weeks left!!!! What a glorious beautiful and heartwarming journey and experience we have had. We have been working with them to grow their initial business idea and concepts through having branding, market research, a business plan underway, deeper insight into the scope of their idea, and confidence in their idea.

Yarpa Canva Workshop

Do you have an Indigenous business or organisation that would benefit for learn how to make an impactful brand and appealing social content??

On 18th of August, Leticia facilitated our first social media content creation workshop at Yarpa Hub, with Lauren providing practical support on the ground with the participants invoice.?WE ARE GUNNA SAY IT AGAIN - IT WAS SOOOO DEADLY! ??????

We loved getting to explore their target audience and share how to do social media plans, explore content pillars, Canva basics walkthrough, share about caption writing, social media engagement, hashtag research & scheduling post. All through our practical exercises and interactive on-the-ground teaching - this was a solid 5 hours of content!?

2022 AbSec NAIDOC Family Fun Day

On 27th September (2 Days Ago!!) Leticia had the pleasure of MCing the 2022 AbSec NAIDOC Family Fun Day!????????

Leticia loved coming back to roots in a different capacity to support AbSec post finishing up after?5 years as an AbSec Youth Ambassador in 2019 and also also being award AbSec Children & Family Awards Young Person of the Year in 2020. AbSec holds a build soft spot in Leticia's heart, and yarns about how they played such an important role and helping her own her voice after leaving out-of-home care.?

???PERSONAL GIFTS:?whether it’s a gift for you or a friend & loved one, these are beautiful little homely features - sit them at your desk, feature them next to an ornament, display them on the fridge - what else can you do? We are?curious ?? about your ideas.


???BUSINESS/CORPORATE GIFTS:?Share a personalised message to staff as a welcome gift (we have matching mugs), during NAIDOC & Reconciliation Week, End of the year, or even during staff team building exercises. ???SHOWCASE SHARE:?We recently had a 200 pack order of our 6 print postcard pack?from University of Wollongong, where they were gifted to the Alumni students for an event a couple of weeks ago!!!

Leticia is going on Maternity Leave in December

As some of you make know, Leticia is expecting her first bubba - a little boy, around Christmas time. To allow some time for nesting and relaxation before this big life change, she will be stepping away from her ground work duties as of?1st December 2022 until 1st April 2023

Our Design Services will continue as usual!!!

Don't be swayed as our team will be still hard at work to bring all your deadly design projects to life!

Lauren?will be focused on developing cultural artworks projects,?cultural element packages, logo development and all the cool illustrations projects such as branded illustrations, Instagram highlights & much more!

Lisa?will be focusing on bringing to life branding collateral and all layout design projects such as business cards, flyers, multi-page reports, slide decks, Reconciliation Action Plan layout designs alongside working with Lauren on projects involving cultural artworks & illustrations.?

Alice?will be supporting us to bring to life our creations onto Canva for client projects requiring template designs, and social media tile creations, and also looking after our admin tasks such as getting your service agreements out to you.

Lisa and Lauren will be also available to run our Brand Discovery workshops online - as per usual!

Our Canva Social Media Workshop, Start Up Deadly Program & Leticia's community consultation work will be on hold?during her leave.?

Monday - Friday: 10am - 6pm?
