Last Year at Athena's Warehouse

(School Year 2023-2024)

• Confidence in making choices and resisting peer pressure increased, with 75% of girls feeling empowered to make decisions independently of their peers.
• ?Safety is a priority, and we’re proud that 88% of our girls now know how to seek help if they experience violence or abuse, a significant improvement from the 25% who felt knowledgeable at the start of the year.
• From learning about nixtamalization in our food workshops to mastering deep breathing techniques, 100% of the girls who attended specific sessions are actively using their newfound skills!?

As we approach our 15th anniversary celebration, we reflect on the incredible milestones we've achieved together. Over the years, our after-school program has empowered over 700 girls living in poverty through our transformative workshops.

?We currently have 38 students enrolled in our program for this 2024-2025 school year. Our first workshops began shortly after Labor Day weekend with 11 new students attending Orientation & 26 attendees total. Since then, our youth have experienced yoga with Jess P. & learned How to Live a Resilient Life from Yanira P. Next week, Kristine R. of Mobile Beauty Bar Atl will help our girls define self-care for themselves.?
