SEPTEMBER IS SUICIDE PREVENTION MONTH. JOIN THE FIGHT. SAVE LIVES.

Dear Friends,

The environment in which public safety and medical providers work is fraught with trauma. The demands of the tyranny of the urgent, the split second decisions with real life consequences put immense stress on these professionals. You see it daily in the news.

Add to that the political and activist antagonism against police that is exacerbated by combative media. Irrational demands to defund or abolish police are heard daily. The emotional environment that culture creates is one where these professionals search for hope. real hope. That is our speciality. We help those who ask find hope. Whether right here in Middle Tennessee or across the nation, our Serve & Protect team serves the emotional needs of national heroes while we locate that perfect match with a trauma therapist. That is our role in preventing suicide.

Those calls where the person on the other end is contemplating suicide imminently are truly life and death. I’ve taken those calls. By the grace of God, those calls were answered and those who called survived to get help.

As we work through suicide prevention month, I wanted to thank you for your prayers and support. You make it possible for that call to be answered. Your help saves lives and helps heal homes. Although September is a special focus - for us - every day is suicide prevention day.

Whether through KLOVE, Huckabee, social media, or direct contact, you are family. Thank you.
