Crew Breakfast Insights: a quarterly recap
Recently, we have gathered for our quarterly CrewBreakfast - a special event where AROS MARINE colleagues come together to share updates, celebrate achievements, and check the pulse of our company.
This time, we were joined by representatives from our Commercial, Project Management, Finance, and Continuous Improvement teams, who shared exciting updates on their latest projects and initiatives. Among the many interesting insights, we had the opportunity to dive deeper into our sustainability strategy, which is becoming an integral part of our operations. One of the highlights was learning about Urbanbee.lt and the story behind our very own Aros Marine honey! Earlier this year, we installed two beehives on our office roof, and it’s been incredible to see how these small efforts contribute to a bigger vision of sustainability.

100 Hours of Kindness: together, we made a difference
As part of Aros Marine 15 years anniversary, we launched the 100HoursOfKindness project, giving our team the opportunity to contribute their time to those in need. We’re proud to announce that we’ve surpassed our goal, reaching a total of 213VolunteerHours! ??
Our CEO, Giedrius Valainis, shared: "We’re celebrating a record-breaking year, not just with our achievements onboard, but also through our commitment to giving back. The '100 Hours of Kindness' initiative has shown our biggest strength is our TEAM."
A special mention goes to our France office, where our colleagues dedicated their time to Les Restos du Coeur. As our colleague, Celine Beguin-Rose shared: "I’m very happy to have volunteered for Restos du Coeur. A few years ago, they helped me, and this was my chance to give back."
Thank you to everyone who contributed their time to Lithuanian Food Bank / ?Maisto bankas“, Restos du Coeur, Lithuanian Red Cross/Lietuvos Raudonasis Kry?ius, and Kur?i? Nerija National Park.??
Hands-on Collaboration: our partnership with academia
We are excited to continue our collaboration with Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) as we welcomed two groups of students to AROS MARINE for the second season of the HandsOn project.
This year our collaboration focuses on responsible refit and sustainable suppliers, with an emphasis on their evaluation criteria. The students are exploring key sustainability-driven ideas, including 3D printing with bioplastics, reusing recycled textiles through the Seaqual Initiative for furniture production, hemp ceiling panels, modular wall elements, flooring made from recycled tire rubber.
In the initial pitch, we were able to challenge these concepts, encouraging them to consider how suppliers are evaluated based on evolved maritime interior priorities: form, function, compliance, cost and sustainability.
