Getting to Know InfoReady

InfoReady is widely associated with research, used by over half of Carnegie R1 institutions and more than 225 institutions globally. It streamlines and organizes research activities for institutions of all sizes. However, many also use InfoReady for non-research purposes across various campus departments. Initially adopted for managing specific research processes, its flexibility and ease of use quickly make it valuable for other submission and review processes campus-wide. Tracking Notes on Applications

Depending on the complexity of your workflow, administrators may need to track conversations, updates, or other notes about an application as it moves through the process. InfoReady has two options for different scenarios: the Application Notes feature and hidden fields. Learn more.?

The specific Application Notes feature has been used for years to track quick private notes and files shared between administrators. It works well for jotting down potential reviewers for assigning later or maintaining original documents if current ones are replaced. However, these notes don’t appear in Excel reports or PDFs in the platform.?

If you need to be able to export your notes, then using hidden fields with the newer Form Designer template may be a better fit. This method allows administrators to fill out any fields or add files to the original application that applicants do not see. In addition to showing in reports, data entered this way can also be shown to reviewers, making it a good way to pass on administrative details during the review process. It also works well for being able to sort quickly for actions later, such as tracking waitlists.?
