Communication Skills - ‘buy one place, get one free!’

We are delighted to invite yourself (or a colleague), and another colleague to attend our online open course, ‘Communication Skills’, taking place on?Friday 13th September 2024, 9.30am-4pm. If you book two places onto the session, you will only pay for one! That’s?two?delegates developing essential skills for?only £275 + VAT, a bargain not to be missed.

Even if you consider yourself a natural, effective communication relies on awareness of others and taking into account their perceptions and reactions. This course explores not only how you can communicate your thoughts to others, but also how to understand their behaviour to ensure they are effectively communicating back.

During this training course, we will cover the following areas:

  • What communication is:?the components of communication and what makes someone good at it
  • The language of communication:?choosing our words and exploring questioning techniques
  • Body language: how it can affect face to face communication
  • Understanding others:?the power of listening, considering the perceptions of others, and exploring empathy
  • Communication at work:?Keeping control, being aware of jargon
  • Other media:?Telephone, email and social media; how they can limit (or enhance) communication
  • Tips and tricks:?How to never say no, how to get your way
  • Conflict in communication:?being aware of emotions and navigating confrontations constructively
  • After the conversation:?Reflecting on interactions, and recognising the value of feedback
  • Personal awareness:?a chance to explore our own past experiences with others

This course is intended to be very interactive and driven by discussion, and all attendees will be encouraged to actively engage throughout the session. The format is intended to be informal to foster natural conversation, as befitting the theme of the course.

Mental Health Awareness at Work

On Wednesday 25th September, we are hosting our next free-of-charge webinar on ‘Mental Health Awareness at Work’ and would love to see you there!

You are invited to our complimentary 90-minute taster webinar of Yellowday’s Managing Mental Health and Wellbeing at Work training course. Taking place on Wednesday 25th September 2024, 10am-11.30am, it will be an insightful exploration of various elements pivotal to understanding and addressing mental health challenges at work.

Facilitated by our specialist trainer Ali Grady FCIPD , we will delve into mental health and the common signs of declining mental health and wellbeing in ourselves and others, including offering a holistic approach to comprehending and managing our stress factors. Ali is a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA England) Instructor and has many years of experience working with and coaching senior leadership teams.

Introduction to Project Management

New to project management, or need to refresh your skills?

Our Introduction to Project Management online open course is the perfect opportunity for those who are new to project management or need to refresh their skills, without the need for a formal qualification. On?Wednesday 2nd October 2024, 9.30am-4pm?we are running our Introduction to Project Management online open course and would love to see you there. This one day practical training course will introduce delegates to the core skills, tools and techniques needed to successfully manage projects.
