September Insolvency Report!

For September, we are seeing a mixed set of results for insolvency rates.

While numbers are continuing to rise, they are doing so at a much slower

rate compared to August. For instance, for builders’ merchants, there were

just 14 insolvencies in September, down from 36 the previous month, while

main contractors experienced an incredible drop of 73 per cent with just

three insolvencies in September, as opposed to 11 in August.

Unfortunately for architects, September’s insolvency rate has increased

from 19 in August to 25. The fenestration industry also saw a slight rise in

numbers with insolvencies jumping from 87 in August to 90 in September.

The opposite was true for local builders of whom 106 local builders went

into insolvency in September, as opposed to 133 going bust the previous

month.
