Book Launch - It's All About the Land by Taiaiake Alfred
October 4, 2023 7:00 PM EST
Illuminating the First Nations struggles against the Canadian state, It’s All about the Land exposes how racism underpins and shapes Indigenous-settler relationships. Renowned Kahnawà:ke Mohawk activist and scholar Gerald Taiaiake Alfred explains how the Canadian government’s reconciliation agenda is a new form of colonization that is guaranteed to fail. Ottawa Dialogue invites you to participate in a Q&A with the author to discuss the role of peacemakers – settler and Indigenous – in developing anti-colonial alternatives to reconciliation.

The book looks at how?NGO mediators are redefining the mediation field through norm promotion; however,?if NGO mediators can promote norms, the book also questions whether they?should?promote norms in the first place, as the NCA process shows how the promotion of inclusivity contributed to a more exclusive outcome of years of peace negotiations in #Myanmar.?
