The September Edition
September is Suicide Prevention Month, a time to focus on awareness and understanding. Suicide prevention begins with recognizing the warning signs, such as withdrawal, sudden mood changes, or expressions of hopelessness. At Visions Teen, we believe that open conversations and timely intervention can make a difference. Let’s work together to support those who may be struggling and ensure they feel heard, valued, and never alone.
If you or someone you know is struggling, remember that help is available. Reach out to a friend, family member, or mental health professional. You can also contact the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988 for immediate support. No one should have to go through this alone—there are people who care and are ready to listen.
Talking to Your Teen About Suicide Prevention
Different risk factors, mental health issues, and experiences can influence the decision to try and take one’s life, and it’s important to acknowledge and talk about these feelings in order to address them before they lead to action. It’s especially important to address the topic of suicide given today’s mental health climate.
