New BeZero research reveals impact of SDG claims on carbon pricing
In 2023, carbon projects that issued credits with SDG claims commanded a price premium 106% higher than credits without them. Carbon ratings also influence price: buyers pay on average over three times more for high-rated credits with SDG claims than lower-rated ones without SDG claims.
Read our report to learn how this positive relationship between SDG claims and price holds across sectors, location and ratings, and how BeZero helps shed light on the impacts behind these claims.
Impacts beyond carbon: from SDGs to safeguards
Carbon projects need robust safeguards to make sure they create positive impacts for nearby communities, biodiversity, and ecosystems. BeZero provides a proprietary toolkit for assessing non-carbon risk, including data on project safeguards and claims around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Discover our research and tools that help carbon credit users understand their investments' full impact.
Why safeguards matter for high-integrity projects
Project safeguards improve the likelihood of carbon outcomes, increase non-carbon benefits, and reduce the risk of negative impacts. Inconsistencies in both requirements and reporting make safeguards hard to identify and interpret. To help carbon credit users better understand non-carbon risk, our experts have surfaced project-specific safeguard information on BeZero’s dedicated Beyond Carbon dashboard.
