We would like to inform you that the Department of State (DOS) has recently released the September 2024 visa bulletin.
Additionally, USCIS has confirmed that individuals in the US should refer to the Dates for Filing Chart for family-sponsored preference categories and the Final Action Dates Chart for employment-sponsored preference categories when filing their adjustment of status applications. All Chargeability Areas refer to all other countries not specifically listed in the visa bulletin.
FAMILY-BASED CATEGORIES
There were no changes in the Final Action Dates Chart or Dates for Filing Chart.
EMPLOYMENT-BASED CATEGORIES
?EB-3: All Chargeability Areas (Rest of World), including Mexico and the Philippines, have retrogressed by one year, moving from December 1, 2021, to December 1, 2020.
?EB-3 Other Workers (EW): All Chargeability Areas (Rest of World), including Mexico, retrogressed one month, moving from January 1, 2021, to December 1, 2020.
There were no changes to the Dates for Filing Chart.
Please note: Demand for employment-based visas has increased steadily this year. Most categories for FY 2024 are expected to reach their limits in September. If an annual limit is reached, that category will be marked “unavailable,” and no more visas will be issued. Due to high demand, the final action dates for EB-3 visas for Rest of World, Mexico, and the Philippines, as well as EW visas for Rest of World and Mexico, have retrogressed. This is necessary as these categories approach the annual limit for FY 2024. Dates may advance in October 2024, depending on demand and the estimated FY 2025 category limit.
