September 2024 Update
Leaders Look Within in 2024 | September Newsletter
What am I seeing right now?
Being a strong leader these days takes quite a bit. I am focusing more and more on leading with values and building relationships. It is a challenging environment in our world today. We are constantly being hit with divisiveness, lots of requests to take a stand on issues, trying to understand the current landscape concerning the country’s direction, and the continual misreporting of news information. These items can test us, and it is critical that we have strong values to stand firmly on and continue to grow our awareness of the impact not only on ourselves but others. It’s a challenging time.
Self-Reflection
I am finding strength in Faith. Yes, faith and trust in God more and more. God’s word and promises through the sacraments continue to show me a way to look at issues differently, to continue to see a path ahead that looks much different than the conventional way. I know I must continue to own and take care of myself. This means making sure I make health a priority: sleep, exercise, routine, prayer, and staying engaged and focused. I am embracing the challenge and journaling my uncomfortability, the wins, the areas I need to work on, and continued gratitude for the people I continually learn from. I am finding with: family, at work, and those working on their faith journeys. I am also praying for those going through tough times too.
This verse has my attention:
“Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way, you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly!” Psalms 37:5 TPT
So where am I going with all of this?
Each one of us is dealing with something that needs our attention. When opportunities come up, I need to go to God first. When issues come up, I need to take these to God as well. I don’t believe in coincidences. Today, I see people dealing with all kinds of issues: big or small. Prayer is so important these days.
I see people trying to understand the current political race. Many thoughts on where this is going and people are coming from all different angles on this race. For me, I am finding it more and more of a distraction. I am not ignoring what is happening, I simply do not need to spend time here. I am channeling that time and resources toward prayer and making sure my values continue to stay solid in Faith.
I am working on continuing to keep my awareness high and truly understand the truth more and ask more questions, and “taking more time to pray and discern” to make sure I can take the best action that impacts others in a way that adds value and opens hearts to Grace.
Finally, I see a lot of opportunities for growth and the value of investing in others. I am fortunate to be surrounded by a great family and employees. We deal with issues daily, but we continue to persevere and lead through the chaos of the daily, worldly stuff. There is a lot of hurt and pain out there, and a number of people overcoming obstacles and finding success. Through it all, we have been given the gift to make a difference each day with God’s mercy, grace, and love, and we can continue to make a difference in our own lives and the lives of others.
Keep going and live with Courage!
Prayer is the Key!
