StuFest
??? The Marrs Bar, Worcester
?? Sat Sep 21, 7pm to 11:30pm
In October 2023, the Worcester music scene lost a beloved figure, Stuart Silcock. For over 20 years, Stu played lead guitar in numerous local bands, including Black Cat Bone, Will Dance For Chocolate, and Chevy Chase Stole My Wife. In Stu's honour, friends and loved ones have organised Silstock to raise funds for a meaningful cause. The Stuart Silcock Young Musicians Award, in partnership with Severn Arts, will provide music tuition to children who might not otherwise have access. Depending on funds raised, selected students will receive fully funded lessons for at least a year. Every penny from StuFest tickets and collections will support this cause. The event will feature performances by local artists, including Ruben Sebright, Pete Adams, Echo Gecco, Severn Collective, and more, with the Marrs Bar House band closing the night in a tribute to Stu’s musical legacy.

Introducing our Sing, Speak, and Shine project
We are excited to introduce "Sing, Speak, and Shine," a project funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation. This initiative will bring music and performance into eight schools within the Rivers Multi Academy Trust (RMAT), particularly in areas of higher need. The project aims to enhance oracy skills by equipping teachers with innovative, non-traditional tools. Through body percussion, rap, and spoken word performance, pupils will build confidence, articulate their opinions, and express themselves powerfully. These resources will be integrated into RMAT’s Oracy Framework, ensuring long-term benefits for our students.
Stay tuned for more details!
