A market leader matching the best travel, digital and tech talent to growing, innovative travel and hospitality brands.
Wow – where did September go? As we look back on what has been a busy month for the industry, and for #TeamGK in the world of recruitment and new appointments, we also wanted to take a moment to share some thoughts if you are planning recruiting ahead over the next few months.
Let’s start with a quick look at some key appointment highlights and kick off with some big changes over at TUI.
It was announced that Andrew Flintham would be departing his role as Managing Director after 17 years with the business. He will join British Airways Holidays - as Claire Bentley retires after an incredible 24 years with the brand. TUI’s own CMO, Neil Swanson will step into the MD role following Andrew’s departure. Big changes - and we are sure, exciting times for them all and the respective brands.
Helen Caron has also decided to step away from TUI after 24 years in various senior leadership roles across Cruise, Distribution, Product and more. Best wishes to Helen!
Over at Fred. Olsen Travel Limited , it’s huge congratulations to Tracy Clenshaw , who joins as Head of Commercial in a newly created role. We wish Tracy every success in her new role.
Sure to make a huge impact in Marketing, Chris Armond has joined Mercury Holidays as their CMO – with a highly experienced background, including TUI , loveholidays and Ocean Holidays , Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and we wish him and the team at Mercury Holidays all the very best.

We’ve also had the huge pleasure of working on the Product & Distribution Manager – Groups and Travel role with the Royal Horticultural Society , with Martin Murray taking up the position in September. Martin has extensive experience in the travel industry and we’re sure he will be a valuable asset to the team – good luck Martin from all of us at #TeamGK!
We’ve also seen a number of key travel brands, expand their trade sales teams. The re-build and focus of having more people out on the road, at events, and generally working closer with the trade continues and it is certainly a great time for opportunity in the world of Sales, Business Development and Trade Relationship roles.
September has been a very busy month and we are seeing lots of exciting new roles coming in – and lots of conversations going on with various sectors right across the Travel and Hospitality industries.
To round off September’s News, we wanted to remind you that if you are looking to recruit, we are available to talk through your ideas, plans, restructures and can help advise on the market currently, including salary and staff benefit expectations – and importantly – how to position your job specs to really gain the interest of your future talent hires.?
It’s important to recognise the time it takes to really get the right person for your business, so don’t leave it too late to start the process…
Best wishes from #TeamGK
