September, 2024

September has been an exciting and eventful month for conferences across Canada, and Medlior was thrilled to contribute to the important discussions on real-world evidence, value based-pricing, and healthcare innovation. These events offered great opportunities to build collaborations and drive meaningful improvements in healthcare.

Keep reading to explore the key insights and takeaways from the conferences Medlior participated in this month!

Canada’s Drug Agency Symposium 2024

Medlior was delighted to attend Canada's Drug Agency 2024 Sympoisum, where pivotal discussions around reimbursement and healthcare system sustainability took center stage. Key highlights included deep dives into real-world evidence (#RWE) in reimbursement decisions, the evolving role of health technology assessment (#HTA) in policymaking, and the importance of patient-centric approaches in health technology reviews. The conference provided invaluable insights into the initiatives underway in Canada, such as post-market drug evaluations, drugs for rare diseases, and time-limited recommendations, to name a few. These sessions sparked meaningful conversations on how innovative data-driven strategies, like those championed by Medlior, can enhance the decision-making process and ultimately improve patient care.

At the symposium CDA announced the release of their Inventory of Rare Disease Registries. Medlior was delighted to support CDA with the preparation of this important resource - click here.

BioAlberta - AGM and Health and Life Sciences Showcase

Medlior is proud to announce that our President, Tara Cowling, has been welcomed as a new member of the BioAlberta Board of Directors. Tara is honored to contribute to the continued growth and success of this vital organization.

Additionally, Tara had the pleasure of attending BioAlberta’s 2024 Health and Life Sciences Showcase in Calgary on September 26th. This event brought together leading voices from Alberta’s dynamic biotechnology sector and highlighted cutting-edge innovations in health technologies, life sciences, and transformative applications in patient care. Key presentations focused on advancements in precision medicine, the role of artificial intelligence in healthcare, and exciting opportunities for collaborative research within Alberta’s thriving health ecosystem. The showcase provided an excellent opportunity for networking and exploring partnerships, and we are eager to apply these insights as Medlior continues to drive innovation through data-driven healthcare solutions.

Congratulations to Jaspreet K Grewal, MBA , CEO and co-founder of AxialBridge on receiving the Vista Award from BioAlberta! Your dedication and contributions to the life sciences industry in Alberta are truly inspiring. Your latest achievement of bringing a new partnership opportunity for BioAlberta with the NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) is incredibly exciting for all Alberta life sciences companies looking for global reach!

Clinical Research Association of Canada (CRAC) - Alberta Launch
