Separated Project Management & Resource Management

If you are managing projects in a system that is separate to the system you use for managing the allocation of people resources = you have a problem.

You may be doing this in separate systems, or even doing it in Excel - in any case, its a poor way to operate in 2015

Here is a few simple questions

Did You Examine Your Software. Maybe you bought something to do PM and RM in the one system but it does not work.  

Have You Spoken To Any Experts. An independent set of eyes can help.  This may be a peer from another similar business, or anyone with a role like mine.

Have You Worked To Identify The Issue.  A simple time in motion study might be the best way of seeing how much effort is being wasted in duplication of effort,

Have You A Stay Put Plan Or A Move Forward Plan. While it is tempting to accept failure , it is more likely that you will find people in the business who would relish the task of understanding and addressing the issue
