Everyone has probably heard the term SEO. Some people are sceptical that SEO services, think it ise time-consuming to deliver the desired results, while others are well aware that search engine optimisation is the straight path to success. As the experts say, it is possible to outperform even the strongest competitors with just a little professional work. So how do you create an effective SEO strategy?

The key to success is carefully selected keywords?

Any SEO expert will tell you that a successful SEO strategy requires professional work. The most important first step is to gather the right and well targeted keywords, which will determine the whole way forward in Google search. The SEO process is not a short one, so incorrectly gathered keywords are the equivalent of a “year wasted for nothing" effort.

Let's take a rather resounding example. For example, a company sells condoms online. Logically, their target keywords would be 'condoms', 'condoms online'. People search easily if they are targeting the online space.?

Once the keywords have been successfully gathered, the strategy starts with a competitor analysis. And it doesn't matter whether the optimisation takes place in Lithuania, the Baltic States or the European Union.

"You can plan to be successful, but if you don't properly assess your competitors, it's impossible to achieve the results you're aiming for with a moderate budget. As an example, we started with two Lithuanian websites to optimise search for our client UAB Deimisa, and in the next phase we added Latvia, Estonia, Germany and soon we will move on to Sweden. The competitive environment and the expertise of SEO specialists differ, so keywords need to be analysed for the national market as well," warns Robertas ?imkus, head of Bilger, an SEO services company.

Budget is an important component

In addition to carefully selecting keywords and researching the Lithuanian or foreign market, the budget of the SEO strategy is equally important. It must be adequate. The budget does not need to be very high, but if competitors are investing a lot in SEO, you will need to invest a similar amount of money to be ranked alongside them in search.

"For example, your competitors are investing €1,500 in search engine optimisation. Naturally, yours should also start at €1000-1500. You can't do anything differently here, you have to assess your income adequately," says R.?imkus.

It is not a quick advertising tool

Most entrepreneurs are actually afraid to invest in SEO because it is not a quick advertising tool. It's like passive income. You need to invest at least a year to enjoy the results.

You need to invest not only in SEO but also in your company's website, but the investment will pay you back with a steady stream of visitors, which of course generates sales.

"It is recommended that companies plan their strategy for a year or a year and a half. Then it is realistic to get good results. The same timeframe applies both in Lithuania and in other countries," explains SEO specialist Robertas ?imkus.

According to our expert, if a very quick result is needed, part of the budget should be spent on search engine optimisation, while the rest of the money should be spent on Google Ads and social media advertising. Then you get visitors in real time, but your SEO strategy does not suffer. After a year, when the SEO strategy is fully operational, there will be no need to spend money on other customer search channels.

?imkus points to prezervatyvai.net as a particularly successful example. He says that when he started working with this company, they were on the first page of searches, but far from the first position. Now, thanks to the right SEO strategy, the right keywords, patience and the right budget, the company enjoys a stable number one position and is successfully optimising searches abroad.

"The goal of every SEO specialist is a long-term partnership, because only long-term team actions and solutions can guarantee long-term success. It could even be said that an effective SEO strategy is created by the synergy between the specialist and the client. Ideally, clients are involved and have at least some understanding of the optimisation process," says Bilger's CEO.
