SEO Fundamentals

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It's the practice of optimizing a website to make it more visible on search engines like Google. The goal is to improve the website's ranking in search engine results so that it appears higher up when people search for related keywords or phrases.

Here are the key components of SEO

1. Keywords: Researching and using relevant keywords that people are likely to search for.

2. Content: Creating high-quality, valuable content that addresses the needs and interests of the audience.

3. On-Page SEO: Optimizing individual web pages, including elements like titles, headings, meta descriptions, and images.

4. Off-page SEO: Building backlinks (links from other websites) to improve the website's authority and credibility.

5. Technical SEO: Ensuring the website is technically sound, with fast loading times, mobile-friendliness, and proper indexing by search engines.

6. User Experience: Providing a positive experience for visitors, with easy navigation and engaging content.

SEO can be thought as making a website the best, most welcoming shop on a busy street, so more people are likely to visit. By doing so, chances of attracting more visitors is increased , which can lead to more customers or readers.
