SEO Expert Reveals Why You Should Buy Leads Instead
Last time, I told you why new companies shouldn’t buy leads.? Now, let’s talk about why they should. In 10 years, my companies have quietly ranked literally thousands of websites and Google Business Profiles high on the first page of Google searches for the most profitable keywords.? I’ve seen my work transform the businesses and lives of my clients. So why am I now advocating for the shortcut of buying leads?
My agencies always focused on local, service-based businesses: think HVAC and roofing rather than restaurants, affiliate blogs, or e-commerce. These types of businesses depend on the phone ringing. For a service business, this means a customer in your area must have a problem you solve, and at the exact moment the need arises (usually it’s a borderline emergency), the customer thinks of you, remembers you, or finds you somehow, so that they can call you.
You’d think the people who know you would call you first, but often in the heat of the moment, they completely forget and head to Google.
In the past 10 years, if I was working on your website or map listing, the possibility was strong that not only would your friends see you there and remember to call YOU and not someone else, but even people who had never heard your name before would call you.
I believed then, and I believe now, that THE BEST way to promote your business is to have your name at the top of organic results in Google searches for search terms that cause the phone to ring.
If you’ve successfully run Google Ads, but you’ve never ranked your site or map organically, you would be shocked how much work heads your way with those free clicks.
So, I’m not saying leads are superior to SEO…
But I’m not saying they aren’t, either.
What I’m saying is that if you look at the largest, most successful companies in the world, they get in front of customers in any way that has a positive ROI.? Some money is better spent than other money, but if you can make more money that it cost you, why not do it.? The more aggressive companies will even invest in money that won’t noticeably return the investment just to try to make sure people don’t forget them.
?Have you ever searched a large company’s name, and of course, it’s the first organic listing, but ABOVE the organic listing, they have an ad, so essentially you see them twice without scrolling?
Why would they do that? The reason is: THERE’S NO WRONG WAY TO GET CUSTOMERS PROFITABLY or even at a slight loss, in some cases.
Here are the reasons service businesses should buy leads:
Jumpstart
If you are fairly new, you may not be able to survive on word-of-mouth alone, just yet, and even if you can, you surely aren’t about to take a large chunk of the market.? Buying leads profitably ensures that the money going out results in substantial return back quickly.?
Throttling Expenses
I once had a client ask me if I could “turn off” the SEO for a little while because there were too many calls.? That’s a good problem to have, but the answer is “NO”.? I can do stuff to hurt the ranking, sure, but when you want to “turn it back on,” it’s much harder to rank the second time than it was the first time.??
If you are buying leads and have all the work you can handle or would like to take a vacation, just turn them off.? They’ll be there when you get back, and no one will give you a 1-star, reputation-damning review for “NEVER” answering your phone.? With SEO, the work must continue and so must your retainer payments.
Dominating Your Market
You can rank your site, rank your map listing, buy Google Ads, Facebook Ads, billboards and be the top plumber on Tik-Tok, but there will always be customers that found a competitor.? Lead sellers are also out there capturing those customers at the time they need to be found the most, and they will generally have more experience and be better at it than your “ad guy” who works on retainer.? Lead sellers only get paid when a real lead is delivered (if that’s not your experience, give https://high-velocity-leads.com a test run), so their entire existence depends on finding your customers.? Your game may be great, but they will peel some away from you.? Leads are purposely priced to be profitable FOR YOU, so even if you have a better presence than your competition, there’s no reason to pass up these leads.?
Predictability
Nearly every client I ever had was burned previously by an SEO company or expert who just wasted a lot of money for nothing.? To be fair, the SEO might have truly believed they could help because they had “figured out” how to rank on Google, and Google being Google changed their algorithms, and what worked before stopped working.? It takes a ton of work to keep up with Google and figure out what is really moving the needle.? I know of only a handful of SEO’s who have over the years been willing to work nights and weekends testing ideas to see what the algorithm was actually rewarding versus what Google said the algorithm was looking for.? Even that elite group faces sudden change.? Those of us in that small group will always get our clients back to the top, but leads completely disappear in the interim. With lead sellers, like High Velocity Leads, the leads never stop.? If you’ve built up a business and have a fleet of trucks and an army of employees, losing all of your lead-flow overnight can not only be stressful, it could be catastrophic. Bought leads can keep the boat afloat while the SEO gets straightened out. Life-long Customers
If you give great service, a customer you acquired from a lead you purchased has an opportunity to become a lifetime customer.? The next time they need you, or when they refer friends and family, you don’t pay the lead company again.? The lead company got your foot in the door, and you 10X’d the opportunity.?
You are happy, the customer is happy, the lead company is happy, and the world is a better place. ?
