Sensee Showcases Braille Conversion AI and Alternative Content Printer for Blinds: For a World Where Braille Books Become the Standard for Publication
Sensee Inc. (CEO Seo In-sik) participated in ‘K-PRINT 2024’, which was held from August 21st (Wednesday) to 24th (Saturday) at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 2 in Ilsan.
Sensee has been developing AI-based technologies and content, such as Braille editing, image-to-Braille conversion, and Braille display modules. The company is contributing to making the world accessible to the visually impaired by commercializing products that aspire to be barrier-free.
Sensee showcased its Braille-printed content at the exhibition, which the company currently produces and sells. Unlike traditional Braille books, their publications feature Braille printed over visible text and illustrations.
This format allows visually impaired and non-disabled people, including their families and friends, to enjoy the content together, fostering a shared cultural experience. Additionally, high-quality eco-friendly materials are actively used in the printing and publishing process, and the content range extends to 3D coloring, educational books, fairy tales, and general novels, receiving positive responses in the market.
Furthermore, Sensee also exhibited and demonstrated home-use printers utilizing its AI module, which is used for creating Braille content. Their AI model exhibits high accuracy in converting Korean text into Braille. Traditionally, translating, proofreading, and editing a single book into Braille could take about six months to a year; however, their technology significantly reduces this time, accelerating the production and commercialization of publications.
Sensee’s Braille model is also designed to accommodate some foreign languages, including English, increasing its utility in creating alternative content for language learning for the visually impaired. Additionally, the company plans to continue enhancing its proprietary software and hardware technologies.
