The Opportunity
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has an exciting opportunity for an enterprising transportation planner who has strong analytical and communication skills and a passion for multimodal transportation solutions. As the Senior Transportation Planner (TPS 4) in Spokane, WA, this position will be leading a multidiscipline team to deliver inclusive practical solutions to advance the agency’s goals, values, and mission. This position will lead, supervise, and take an active role in conducting planning processes required by federal law, state planning processes, transportation modeling, data collection, system analysis, and major project planning. The Senior Transportation Planner will be responsible for representing WSDOT in a variety of forums including interacting and coordinating with other WSDOT departments as well as external agency partners including?regional planning organizations, local jurisdictions, and other state agencies.?The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining positive and constructive working relationships with internal and external customers. To thrive in this role, qualified individuals will need to be self-starters, embrace continuous process improvement, and have a strong commitment to advancing the policy goals of WSDOT.
