An opportunity has arisen for a talented commercial lawyer to join a dynamic and innovative business as part of a highly respected UK team in an autonomous Senior Legal Counsel role.

Location - London, Manchester or Leeds

The role can be based either around London or in Manchester / Leeds / York (there are two legal teams - one in London and another in the North West).

Hybrid working

Irrespective of location, the role offers hybrid working with office presence once a week and flexibility around hours.

Role - Senior In-House Lawyer, Media and Creative Industries

This is a varied commercial legal role where you will work closely with the business and senior leadership. You will manage 3 direct reports and supervise and mentor junior lawyers.

Core work will involve drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with major brands, influencers, media owners and suppliers in relation to all aspects of traditional and digital media strategy, planning and buying, together with digital creative production, as well as rolling out new systems and processes for a rapidly growing business.?

Responsibilities

You will

• become the business partner for a company acting at the cutting edge of the media, advertising and marketing for iconic client brands
• provide legal advice to senior management and other stakeholders at senior levels of the organisation
• draft, negotiate and advise on complex high value commercial agreements (media, advertising, technology, sponsorship, influencer agreements etc).?
• support to commercial teams in contractual negotiations?
• develop legal risks training training for senior management
• provide legal support and guidance in relation to strategy and new commercial initiatives
• implement best practices in compliance, contracts management, intellectual property, data protection, IT and/or M&A
• manage 3 direct reports (contract managers) and supervise and mentor junior lawyers

There will be plenty of opportunities take on responsibility and work with management and international teams as a trusted business advisor.?

Requirements

• The role will best suit someone with around 5-8 PQE
• Commercial lawyer qualified in the UK or Ireland?
• Currently in private practice or in-house in a commercial or corporate legal role
• Interested in working for a successful and innovative company as part of a collegiate team with no politics
• Keen to progress, learn, grow and take responsibility as in-house counsel working closely with business teams at a world leading company
