Senior Data Warehouse Analyst - CONTRACT - REMOTE

Senior Data Warehouse Analyst; BI or Data Analyst alternate titles

• Location: Philadelphia, PA (ideally onsite, however open to 100% remote for the best consultant)
• Contract: through EOY, likely extended into 2021
• Data Architecture team within Enterprise Business Intelligence supporting Retail Sales Channel

The project and day to day:

• ? This person is going to be conduit between stakeholders and the development team (team does not do the engineering) we provide the blueprint to engineering and development.
• ? Strategize a fluid data process between different BU’s that are fragmented.
• ? Sit with each Business SME and understand what is needed (get the business requirements) and translate them into technical requirements in their data environment. Determine how the data is going to be harmonized and cleansed
• ? Source to data mapping
• ? Serve as the face of business to the development team; if tech team asking about how something needs to be done this person will need to translate or re-engage the business for answers and explanation.

Top Skills needed:

• ? SQL is the top skill needed; need to be able to fish for data, write complex queries
• ? Data warehousing skills; figure out best way to structure the data (how to convert raw data into structured data); experience working with data engineers
• ? Must have familiarity with data cleansing and data transformation and ETL tools in general. Will not use ETL but need to be able to give guidance to an ETL Engineer.
• ? Must be able to speak to the business, gather/translate requirements and communicate to tech / engineering; communication skills are paramount.
• ? Bachelor’s degree in anything like IS/CS/Engineering

Preferred:

• ? Data Warehouse is in Teradata and the Data Lake is in Hadoop; looking to move into the cloud to AWS – These are all preferred skills. The more experience in Teradata, Hadoop & AWS the better
