100% remote for a client in Chicago.?This is full time direct with an awesome compensation package, targeting $150,000 - $170,000 + a variable compensation plan and profit sharing.

  • Role: Senior Cloud Manager
  • Top Four:
  • Experience in one of the large cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Able to Learn/Train others on the cloud platform
  • Has some sort of cloud certification. – To be clear, this is not a hands-on role, but someone needs to understand cloud.
  • Management/Leadership experience – around 10 years
  • Additional Information:
  • This person will have two reports to start (DBA and a Senior Cloud Engineer). – The goal is to grow this team and to transition people over from the data center team over to this team once they get cloud certified. To note, the data center day to day tasks will be led by a Team Lead.
  • This role will support a major cloud migration project.

Summary

A Senior Cloud Manager who thrives in a team setting where you can turn your advanced cloud skills and analytical skills by building and delivering AWS and/or Azure Cloud Platforms infrastructure and solutions to help our clients meet the soaring data and cloud demands of AI and machine learning, IoT, advanced analytics, open-source, and other emerging digital technologies. The ability to manage a cloud tower delivering the technical discovery required for government clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership for engineering, implementation, and operation of Azure and AWS platforms for client’s software solutions
  • Enhance and maintain consistent health service monitoring capability to proactively detect and respond to operational issues across all client implementations
  • Sustain status as company’s SME on Azure/AWS cloud platform by participating in Azure/AWS learning opportunities and collaborating with Microsoft Azure and AWS architects
  • Provide guidance and knowledge transfer of Azure/AWS platforms so that CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT continually leverages innovation
  • Collaborate with Product Team, Client Services, and Client Support to ensure client deployments are consistent and complete for all aspects of our cloud offering
  • Work with QA to understand application performance characteristics on the Azure/AWS platform
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching for all staff and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and team building.
  • Work closely with QA and Release to assist in the automation of software deployment and infrastructure provisioning
  • Be the internal Cloud evangelist, build consensus with executives, colleagues, and third parties
  • Partner with product delivery to communicate project status, resolve issues, and ensure that high-quality products are delivered on time
  • The ‘go-to’ for MS, Google, and AWS Cloud and shape how CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT leads customers through their investigation of ‘single or multi-cloud strategies
  • Partner with Project Management team to communicate project status, resolve issues, and ensure that high-quality products are delivered on time
  • Interact mainly with your direct supervisor and be ready to interact with peers and/or managers on the client-side and/or within CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT


Requirements

  • 5+ years' technical solutions implementation, architecture design, evaluation, and investigation in a cloud environment (specifically AWS and/or Azure)
  • 10+ years in a management/leadership role
  • Certifications in AWS or Azure at the Design level
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Track record of managing large-scale, high-quality enterprise system
  • Can converse technology terms to understand the details and extract business value
  • Can craft a cloud vision across the entire portfolio of client’s solutions and get buy-in
  • Understanding of customer buying journey not just of Financial Institutions but their customers too
  • Demonstrated experience to make data-driven decisions
  • Familiarity with the top three cloud providers
