Senior Claims Executives From America’s Biggest Insurers Convene Online to Learn How Automation, Digitization and Analytics Are Transforming Claims

LONDON September 23: This October, the team from Intelligent Insurer are planning their first ever Claims Innovation Virtual Event, which was originally scheduled to be held in Miami.

This virtual conference is to be held across three days (October 26, 28, and 30) and features over 30 speakers from across the insurance ecosystem: personal lines, commercial lines, brokers, and new entrants. 1,000 attendees are expected throughout the week, 87 percent of whom are currently from insurers.

Speakers include chief claims officers and SVPs/VPs of claims from AAA, Arch Insurance, Founders Insurance Company, Generali, Germania Insurance, Kin Insurance, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Manulife, Markel, Mass Mutual, Metromile, Nationwide, Next Insurance, Oscar Health, Plymouth Rock, SCOR, Sompo International and Texas Mutual Insurance Company.

Covering the core issues impacting the claims function, day one of the event will focus on data and analytics—in particular, how advanced analytics is helping insurers triage claims more efficiently, getting a better view of exposure and improving the customer experience.

There will also be sessions that look at remote technologies to assess claims, and using claims data to benefit other parts of the business, especially underwriting.

Automation, digitization and customer-centricity are the key themes for day two. Speakers from Metromile, Arch Insurance and Plymouth Rock will be discussing the use of artificial intelligence in claims, and how insurers are genuinely putting their customers first. Digitization of the claims process will be under the spotlight, not just for first notice of loss, but along the entire claims journey.

Finally, on day 3, speakers including chief claims officers from Hiscox, Aon and State Auto will be talking about how claims culture is changing, and the impact COVID-19 has had on the claims process, and the claims workforce.

Marrying the culture of claims with the need to be data-driven is a theme that runs throughout the agenda. As Bryant Vernon, chief claims officer of Aviva Canada, who’ll be delivering one of the keynote presentations at the event, said: “We focus primarily on data and culture because these are two elements that drive transformation.

“Data is vital because you want to make informed decisions based on facts. Culture is key because culture is what helps you scale, and I believe that a culture of transparency and trust are foundational elements of any sustainable transformation strategy.”

Sponsored by Cloudera, Nuxeo, Verisk Analytics, and Duck Creek Technologies, this event is free for insurers to attend, and the content is available on demand post-event.

Matt Sheridan, Sr. Director of Product Marketing and Strategy for Duck Creek, a gold sponsor, said, “We’re really excited about being involved in this conference. Duck Creek is dedicated to helping carriers achieve end-to-end efficiency improvements, exceptional customer experiences, and innovative, cutting-edge technology implementations. We are proud to sponsor this event, and look forward to participating alongside so many innovative thought leaders from the insurance industry. It’s great to have an opportunity to be part of the claims community in the absence of in-person events.”
