Senior Application Developer - Node.js in Chicago

V-Soft Consulting is currently seeking a Senior Application Developer – Node .js for our premier client. This is a full-time direct position and will need to sit onsite in Chicago, IL. Some flexibility to work from home but local is required.

Summary:

The Sr. Application Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining Web Solutions including corporate and advisor team websites and business applications. This position will ensure that development projects are completed on schedule, with high quality, within prescribed resource limits, and in accordance with client requirements and standards.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

?

• Design and develop solutions using Node.js that integrates with internal and 3rd party systems.
• Provide production support for internally developed Web solutions.
• Conduct design and code reviews with architect and dev manager.
• Follow standards and processes such as SDLC, architecture, design and coding standards.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept systems to validate potential solutions and to mitigate development risks early in the development process.
• Assist project manager to develop detailed project estimates and work plans and ensure that projects are delivered on time and meet clients’ and users’ business needs and expectation of quality.
• Own the application quality in terms of performance, usability, reliability, maintainability, and extensibility.
• Research, recommend, and apply new technologies if applicable.
• Strive to improve technical skills as well as knowledge of business processes.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic. Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high energy, team oriented, and fast-paced environment
• Ability to work with multiple language ASP MVC, C#, PHP, and Node.js
• Ability to work with AWS development stack such as Lambda, S3, Cloud front, EC2.
• 3 years Web CMS development experience in dynamic Web content generation solutions
• 5-7 years Full stack application development experience in:
• OO programming: C++, C#, or Java
• Web Application: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, Node.js
• Relational and document database
• Testing frameworks: Jest, Mocha
• SCRUM and GitHub
• AWS preferred, Azure, Google Cloud
• Service Oriented Architecture
• UI framework: React, Angular, Vue or equivalent
