what is laser cladding?

Laser cladding is a surface strengthening technology. It is to place alloy powder on the surface of the cladding substrate in different ways, use laser as a heat source to quickly melt the alloy powder, and form a coating with excellent performance on the surface of the substrate, so as to achieve the purpose of strengthening the workpiece surface.

The laser cladding coating and the substrate are metallurgically bonded with high bonding strength; the powder composition of the cladding layer can be flexibly selected according to the working conditions. In addition, the cladding layer has a certain thickness, which can repair the damaged surface and make the repaired workpiece reach (higher than) the technical standards of new parts.
