Sending Messages on LinkedIn? Read This

One thing I try to tell anyone who listens, is to remind yourself that everyone is busier than you.

While it might not be true, I firmly believe a key to success in 2017 and beyond, is becoming accustomed to how busy everyone is... all...the...time.

A favorite past time of my own, is messaging people back who have sent me a very long, very obviously copy-and-pasted message on LinkedIn, with a simple "I did not read this."

I hope that simple sentence reminds them of A. How lazy we all are today. B. How busy we all are today and C. Take a little more pride in your prospecting... don't insult my intelligence with 3 paragraphs of things your legal office approved.

Honestly? I already feel like I've already written too much here... Thanks for reading if you've made it this far.

Did you know the average human has a 7 second attention span? As in... you just read these 2 sentences and are bored out of your mind.

Remember when you prospect on LinkedIn... Short... Sweet... and to the point. Assume the person is 100 times busier than you, because they probably are.

As I always say... today's customer is Different and Difficult... as technology has spoiled us all beyond belief.

If your prospecting message is copy-and-pasted and more than 3 sentences long... it's too long.

Adapt folks!
