Do you remember Rebecca Black's infamous song, Friday?

I do

Oh boy I sure do

It's a gem of our generation

A song for the ages

A ballad to signify one of the most important days of the week!

In college when I was living with a few of my best friends, I'd blast it early in the morning just to spread the Friday cheer…

I'm not gonna be one of "those guys" who pretend not to love the weekend

For me it's a great blessing. I read allll day. I do some work. I drink at noon.

Whatever I want! What a wild ride the weekend is

And now, this newsletter is a part of it. It's a daily commitment these days

What does this have to do with picking up an extra few sales this month by sending a single and simple message?

Nothing actually.

I just like telling you stories and things to entertain us both

So now on to Act II of this letter:

We'll call it "Value"

And then I'll put you on your way to Friday

Or as we say here in Brazil, "Sextou!"

(I'll remind you again if I haven't already told you, Sextou is a verb. So yes, Friday is a verb)

Ah Friday in Rio de Janeiro.. I love this place (Don't come here, you'll hate it)

You know what I don't love though?

Leaving money on the table

There's nothing I hate more than passing up on grabbing a fat wad of hundred dollar bills off the table when all I have to do is stand up and grab it!

What am I afraid of? That the money will say no?

That the money will ignore me? That the money will unconnect with me?

You know what, if someone wants to unconnect with me here on LI because I send them a message, so be it

They were never gonna buy from me anyways

Right…

I was talking about LI, and making more sales by sending attractive DM's, and how if you aren't following up on your messages, you're leaving money on the table.

For real, I'd say 20% of my sales come because I've followed up with the message I'm gonna show you below

So why aren't you following up my guy?!?

Could be one or both the reasons below

I think you get the picture of why you may not be following up as much as you should:

1. You don't wanna "nag"

2. You forget

Well number 2 I don't care to give you much advice on

If you're forgetting to follow up, there are plenty of CRM apps out there you can use to help you

What do I use?

A Google Sheets page

For real, I've tried so many different CRM's and I get bored with them after a week

Like video games these days

I mean, nothing against them or anyone who plays them, but don't you have better things to do?

I guess they could improve your mindset somehow

But I'd rather watch a good movie

And but, I digest

A pizza. Later tonight. Mmmm

Ok so let's move on to the only follow up you need to make a few more sales this month (but most likely more! It depends on what you're selling, doesn't it?)?

This message is subtle in language and approach, but I think it makes all the difference sometimes

H/t to Jon Buchan who runs Charm Offensive for inspiring this. I recommend checking out some of his work

Follow Up #1

"I know this isn't at the top of your priority list exactly ;) But have you been able to check this out yet?"

This is a DM you can use after sending a sales document say

Here's a variation you would use if you've sent a pitch

"I know this isn't at the top of your priority list exactly ;) But curious what you think?

So why is this a great follow up?

Because it's a heck of a lot better than, "Just bumping this up"

And because it's a bit funny, and a bit light, and a bit of acknowledging the fact that you are trying to sell something and that they aren't obligated to respond

We're "reflecting their reality" so to speak

Rather than coming in selling, and asking "Just bumping this up" like we're obligated to a response, we're letting them know that, "Hey, yes I'm interrupting you, and I'm selling something, and I know you're busy and I'm not the most important thing in the world to you, but…curious if you like what I'm saying?"

So there you have it

"He's done it again people! Another newsletter in the books!"

Will he continue? Will he write another one tomorrow? Will anyone care?

Yes, Yes, I hope so. Cuz I care a lot?

Let me know if you have any questions for applying this follow up to something specific you're sending

And if you liked this newsletter, give it a like, would ya?

Another confession:

The last spot for the Hidden Profit Intensive hasn't sold yet…

You know, the one where myself and my 8 figure in sales copywriter/ underwater-taekwondo-fighting-champion-3-years-running biz partner give you 3-5 step-by-step strategy shifts that when implemented, (pay attention to that word implemented!) will double or triple your revenue over the next six months

No, we do not work with everyone on this. After the 30 min discovery session, we only create gameplans for businesses that we KNOW will be capable of implementing on it, and achieving what we promise

So there you have it

(I love saying that, don't I?)

Link for info on the intensive is here: Poke Me!

Go get 'em, Tiger
