"Sempre Libera" from La Traviata, now on YouTube!
Hey guys, I have good news! My latest song "Sempre Libera" from the opera La Traviata, is now out on YouTube!
I had the pleasure of collaborating with the amazing Sebastian Armendariz, tenor extraordinaire, on the creation of this song. If you haven't heard his voice yet, you are in for a treat. More on Sebastian here.
La Traviata is one of the most recent operas I've experiened live, and it spoke to me in a way that no other opera had previously. What I love about this opera is there are many opportunities for each principal voice to shine, with a surprising number of memorable arias that are often performed as standalone pieces in concert performances.
I knew that Violetta was someone I wanted to play, so after lamenting in Violetta's plight while singing "Parigi o Cara" at my first solo concert in 2018, and later recording Addio del Passato (listen here), I welcomed the challenge of interpreting Violetta's happier side with Sempre Libera. This is how continue to master the role, one aria at a time.
