Seminole Towne Center mall loses Burlington store

Welcome to Orlando Business Journal's weekly LinkedIn newsletter. I'm Digital Producer/Senior Staff Writer Richard Bilbao, rounding up Orlando business news to keep you in the know when time is short.

Burlington has moved from its space at the Seminole Towne Center.

The Burlington, New Jersey-based retail chain — part of Burlington Stores (NYSE: BURL) — left its space at the Sanford indoor shopping mall, according to outdoor signage at the mall.

The Burlington store relocated to the Marketplace at Seminole Towne Center at 1301 WP Ball Blvd., where it has leased?35,811 square feet of space , which is nearly half of what it had at the mall. It opened Oct. 14 in the space that formerly housed a Stein Mart. That shopping center is owned by CBRE Global and Fairbourne Properties.

Burlington previously opened in the mall in 2012, where it took over the lower level of?the former Belk department store , while Dick's Sporting Goods took the second floor. In total, the Burlington store has vacated 61,948 square feet of space at 350 Towne Center Circle.

(Personal note from Richard: Costco has become one of my family's favorite places to grab lunch on a weekend. My kids love the hotdogs and my wife is a fan of the pizza there. As for me, I cannot complain that we can feed the family for less than $10. It's a great deal ... until you walk inside and buy a 50-count box of tape.)
