According to informed sources, Allegro Microsystems, a supplier of sensor integrated circuits, is sparking the acquisition intention of its larger competitor, On Semiconductor (referred to as On Semi for short). In recent months, On Semi has been collaborating with consultants to plan the acquisition of Allegro Microsystems.


Allegro Microsystems develops advanced semiconductor products and positions itself as a leading enterprise in the fields of power supply and sensing solutions for motion control and energy-efficient systems. Its products are applied in automotive engines, safety systems, as well as data centers and factories. Similarly, On Semi also develops power supply and sensing technologies for the automotive, industrial, and cloud computing sectors.

6、Marvell Unveils Its First 2nm IP Verification Chip, Using TSMC's N2 Process


Marvell Technology Group Ltd. recently released its first 2nm IP verification chip based on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's (TSMC) N2 process. This chip will serve as an important foundation for Marvell to develop customized AI XPUs, switches, and other high-performance chips.


Marvell stated that its 2nm platform can significantly enhance the performance and efficiency of the computing infrastructure in hyperscale data centers and enterprises, meeting the higher demands for computing power and energy efficiency in the era of artificial intelligence.


In addition, Marvell also introduced a 3D synchronous bidirectional I/O technology for the vertical 3D stacking scenarios of chiplets. The operating speed of this technology can reach 6.4Gbit/s. Compared with the current mainstream unidirectional interconnection technology, this I/O IP achieves a higher bandwidth density, providing stronger support for future high-performance computing and AI applications.
