Semiconductor Humor
The semiconductor industry is becoming mature. The industry that once only respected innovation now solely respects tradition. "How we do things around here" does not work as well as it used to.
When growth rates decline somebody has to take the blame. Salespeople are easy targets as they live part of their professional lives outside in the real world talking to real customers. When they are invited to the corporate fish tank it is like dumping wild salmon in an aquarium. They are clearly not sane.
Somebody from corporate has to teach them how to sell and what to do and say. If that doesn't create results there must be something wrong with the sales people.
The picture was mostly created for fun, but the post struck a nerve. It was shared a lot and had many comments. Clearly, I managed to offend a lot of people in cubicle land. Much more offended were my old friends in the FAE community.

Now also hated by the semiconductor sales people, I limit myself to comments about safe areas:
When we don't waste your time:
Engagement Group is helping semiconductor and other hi-tech companies grow organically through social networks. We create new revenue from new customers.
- We make your organisation ready for the social network tsunami. You need to understand the social principles to survive and surf the wave.
- We transform your sales people from sellers to buying consultants attracting new customers and new orders.
- We transform your advertising to content valued by the customer, at a fraction of the advertising cost.
- Social Selling is so good it is irresponsible not to use it.
