SEMA 2017--Every Mile a Memory . . .
Nobody asked me, but . . .
I walked another 25 miles in three days around the automotive aftermarket orgasm known as the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The way I figure it, I probably saw about 10 percent of everything in and around the Vegas Convention Center. And that doesn’t include all the hard parts on display at the accompanying AAPEX Show in the Sands Hotel. It’s a mind-boggling few days.
SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) calls its show the "premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world." While not open to the general public, SEMA focuses on aftermarket performance products, accessories and add-ons.
So, think of the SEMA Show as the place to showcase and see the latest in performance, including: hot rods, race cars and trucks, modifieds of all shapes and sizes, retro mods, add-ons such as wings, exhaust systems, lighting, the latest in wheels and tires, parts for classic and muscle cars, trick tools, waxes and wrap kits.
The AAPEX (Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo) Show focuses on original equipment and products to service vehicles. Think paint and body straightening equipment, steering and wheel alignment equipment, tools, radiators, condensers and other heating/cooling components, under-hood belts, hoses and filters, and undercar brakes, suspension and drivetrain parts.
Here’s a selection of the eye candy on display. Enjoy.
