SELLING NOT TELLING !!!!

I recently requested for and engaged some independent affiliates on this platform who claim to have selling and social media marketing skills (required skills) to help with the sale of my new book titled "How to be a Yahoo boy".?

Judging by my records, I could see some level of activities that do not translate to sales and I'm like, "What could be the problem?". I later realized that most of the people hired, weren't selling but telling and to make it worse, they are trying to sell what they know little or nothing about.

?Let's set the record straight, selling is not telling. It is beyond telling people to buy your product or service or just mentioning their features or benefits and hoping that the prospect will see reason and make a "logical" buying decision. Selling is an art and also a science. An art because the seller's personality and style is often expressed in the sales process which is often different from others. In other words, no two people sell exactly the same way. And it's a science because there are processes to follow, which can be replicated to give similar expected results.

Having said that, there are 3 fundamental elements a seller must consider in other to be effective at selling.

1. Personality: This includes your physical attributes, mindset, style and attitude. Bottom line, people most likely buy from those they like. So if your personality is not appealing to your audience, sweetheart you're most likely going to sell "zilch". People buy into you first, before buying whatever it is you're selling. So make your personality an appealing one. Your looks, voice tone, confidence, attitude to work and so on, must depict a warm, welcoming, attractive personality. Always remember that.

2. Knowledge:?It's quite amusing when you come across sales people who try to sell stuff they know next to nothing about, to people they know next to nothing about. Quite ridiculous isn't it? This is exactly what I realized with the people I just hired. All of them want to sell my book but only a handful of them have bought my book. How can you convince someone to do something when you have not experienced yourself? The most likely question from prospects is usually "Have you tried it yourself?". They want to know if you have that first hand knowledge, experience?or authority that they can rely on to take a buying decision. In addition to that, you must also know the characteristics of your target audience. Who do you want to sell to? What's their "Persona".?Do you try to sell a box of diapers to a single young man? Your guess is as good as mine. These tell everyone how serious or committed you are to selling the product or service which goes a long way in deciding whether to buy from you. Imagine an ambassador of a country that knows nothing about his/her home country. At that moment you're trying to sell and after that, you're an ambassador of the brand you're selling. It is the way you communicate your experience story most times,?that determines whether you will sell or not and don't be fooled, prospects aren't fooled too. So you must know about your product, your audience, your competition, your industry.

3. Creativity: this oftentimes, is what separates the men from the boys. It's about value added, about perception management. Whatever you can come up with that is ethical to give a perceived additional value makes a huge difference especially in a competitive market. It is often said that "The difference between "kpekere" (unbranded fried plantain) and plantain chips (branded fried plantain) is "packaging" which is simply about the simple extra things that triggers pleasant emotions in the customer.

Now that I've told you about some important elements in selling, let me also tell you why you must go get a copy of my book "How to be a Yahoo boy" now:

1.?The book it's in a class by itself. You can judge this book by the cover and title. Imagine watching a romantic thriller movie filled with exciting highlights and a storyline you can relate to but not regular. This is how you'll feel reading the book. Exactly how Lara Acosta puts it. "The book is so exciting, it was like I was watching a movie, I enjoyed it"

2. You hardly come across a fiction book with life changing lessons to take home nowadays. With "How to be a Yahoo boy", the "take home" lessons are not just insightful, detailing the iceberg under the water but hard hitting.?

3. It's a book you'll love to read, share with someone, read again and discuss. There's also a possibility of turning it into a movie.

4. The book is currently sold on Sellar for just N2,000 unlike on Amazon for about N6,000 in USD. However, it won't remain that way for long so go get your copy now at https://selar.co/gpgl

5. Lastly, you'll be helping some people earn a living including the author. So, support the creative industry in your own little way.?

Thank you and God bless you
