Selling Solar During a Pandemic

If you are working in sales, you have probably had times when you needed to overcome some sort of objective or obstacle. The one thing most of us don't have experience with is closing sales in the middle of a pandemic. One of the industries most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is the solar industry. This is an industry that relies heavily on the door to door personal sales. This is not happening during these times. I have been getting many calls from my solar clients over the past month looking for leads to make Zoom, Skype, or Facetime presentations, what a great idea. This technique is allowing solar teams to not miss a beat during this difficult time. So instead of calling homeowners and scheduling door to door appointments, teams are scheduling online presentations. Here are what I think are the benefits of using this approach during the pandemic

1. The homeowners are all home( we know this for a fact)

2. Homeowners are bored and are looking for something to do while at home and they may be looking forward to hearing your presentations

3. Homeowners will be looking to save money now more than ever.

If you can give a strong presentation and connect with the homeowners, you have a strong chance of making a sale and saving the homeowner money. One of my clients told me this week he was so depressed he was taking a month off to go on vacation. Do not be that guy or gal. Pivot. Get some quality leads, learn a strong phone presentation, set online appointments and close sales.
