SELLING PLANS ON AMAZON

When you sign up as a Seller on Amazon, you can choose from two different Selling Plans:-

• Individual Plan
• Professional Plan

There are a few important differences between the two plans.

Fees:-

A Professional account carries a "flat monthly subscription fee" of $39.99 no matter how many items you sell, so this type of account makes sense if you're planning to sell a lot of items.

An Individual account, on the other hand, is a better choice if you only make a few sales each month.

Instead of a flat monthly subscription fee, you'll pay a "per-item fee" of $0.99 for every item you sell.

If you start selling more than 40 items per month, you might consider upgrading to a Professional account.

FBA services:-

Professional & Individual accounts both are eligible for FBA services.

FBA services are order fulfillment services offered by the Amazon where Amazon picks, packs & ships the orders on behalf of the seller and charges minimal service charges for that.

Advantages of using Professional selling plan:-

Professional selling plan includes some special perks that individual plan lacks.

• Bulk Listing & Reporting Tools that let you add inventory to amazon more quickly and better analyze your sales data.
• With a professional account you can also sell in Canada & Mexico along with the Amazon US.
• With an individual plan you'll use Amazon's standard pricing rates for shipping, but as a Professional seller, you can customize shipping rates for each of your products, which will give you more flexibility in shipping.
• Only Professional sellers can win Buy Box on product detail pages, which can increase your visibility and sales.
• Offer special Promotions & Gift wrapping on your products through Professional selling account.
• Access to tools that will help optimize your business, such as:-

1. Automate Pricing tool : Uses rules you create to automatically adjust your prices for listings you select.
2. Amazon Selling Coach: Provides personalized recommendations on inventory stock levels, selection, advertising, and other business areas.
3. Amazon Marketplace Web Services(MWS) : Provides an integrated Web service API suite that helps sellers programmatically exchange data on listings, orders, payments, reports, and more.
4. Amazon Stores : Help showcase your brand and products.
5. Subscribe & Save program : It lets Amazon customers sign up for recurring, scheduled deliveries of products that they use frequently. (Tissue rolls etc.)

UPGRADING or DOWNGRADING SELLER CENTRAL ACCOUNT

If you're already a seller and would like to change your account type from Individual to Professional(upgrading), or vice versa(downgrading), you can follow the following sequence:-

Settings > Account Info > Manage("Your services" section) > Upgrade/Downgrade ("Sell on Amazon" section)        

This Upgrade/Downgrade will become effective as of the next billing cycle.

Before you modify your plan, make sure you've reviewed all those differences one last time; a quick search of upgrade or downgrade in Seller Central will get you there.
