SELLING INSURANCE - JOE PATERNO - DO SOMETHING GOOD!!!

SELLING INSURANCE - JOE PATERNO - DO SOMETHING GOOD!!!

I have to tell you about a vision that I had a few nights ago. You got to remember that I am 74 years old, Penn State  class of 1964. And these things happen!!

I dreamed that I was floating over State College, PA. Do you believe it? I can understand why this was happening especially at this time. You know. The Game. I was a psychology major at Penn State. My advisor was Dr. Lundy, who was a roommate of Rod Serling at Wisconsin. This may have something to do with my vision.  But who knows.

So here goes. This is what I saw. I saw Rec Hall. The Lion. Waring Hall. Thompson Hall. Schwab Auditorium. The Creamery. And Beaver Stadium. So beautiful.

And as I floated past the Bryce Jordan Center I saw a guy floating over Beaver Stadium. Alone. Was that Joe? So lonely.

I couldn’t believe it but it was Joe. I floated toward him. He had his pants rolled up. I said, "Hi Joe". He said "Bob is that you?" I said , "Yes". He said "What the heck are you doing up here?" I said "I am happy. Enjoying the sights." Joe said "What are you nuts? You are too young to be up here. Don’t be stupid. I will see you in 12 years". I said , " Ok Joe".

But before I descended, I asked Joe what he thought about James Franklin. Joe said "Bob I love James Franklin. He is more emotional than me. He loves Penn State. He is a good guy. I talk to him almost every day when he is not busy. I talked with him this morning and I emphasized to him and he agreed that right now the focus is on USC, USC, USC, USC"!!!!

Joe told me to get back down and do something good in life. He told me to sell insurance.  He told me you have twelve more years to be useful!! Come back and see me then.

And finally Joe said "We Are Penn State. Then, Now, and really Forever".

Joe also was absolutely excited about this year's team- Barkley, McSorley, the O-Line, Gesicki, all the Wide Receivers and especially the Defense. And he said don't forget the Kicking Game and all the Special Teams. He went on and on. He said that this year was great but he couldn't wait until next year.

I asked Joe about the statue. Joe said forget it. He said he was not a statue. He was a spirit living in all Penn Staters. He was damn sure that nobody could lock that spirit up in a basement somewhere. He said don’t worry about it.  Once again, he said do something good and productive in life. You are not going to make the NFL!!!  He told me again to sell insurance

The next time you go to Beaver Stadium say hello to Joe. He will be just over the southern upper deck with one eye on Mount Nittany and the other eye on the fifty yard line. Penn State Forever.

I love all you all!! Happy New Year!! Talk to you after the Rose Bowl.

If we don’t win, it does not matter. Joe will be there forever and so will we!!

Joe told me to tell you  that I sell auto, home, and business insurance and that I am the best because  I am a Penn Stater.

For the glory,

Bob
