Selfless Veteran Volunteers Need Your Help

Selfless Veteran Volunteers Need Your Help

Below is an excerpt from a newsfeed I posted several weeks ago. I have decided to present it as a post to possibly gain more attention to the urgent need this group is currently facing.

I was notified by several concerned citizens that the Veteran Honor Guard Inc. of the Upper Cumberlands is currently in desperate need of two dependable 16 passengers vans. These veterans volunteer countless hours of time in all types of weather to conduct 200-250 funeral gravesite services a year in an area encompassing 9 counties in Tennessee. They are completely funded by donations and support from military supportive groups and families. They must utilize 2 vans because in many cases military burials can be up to 60 miles apart at the same times. They do not charge for their services, because they feel the heroes they honor have already paid the ultimate sacrifice. I have never utilized GoFundMe but I know that this can provide a vital link to spread the word of the urgent need this group is currently facing. They did not request assistance, I approached them because I saw they were in need. It is only fair that each of our service members have an honorable tribute as they are laid to rest in the ground they fought so hard to defend. I am calling on my fellow veterans and military supporters to help our brothers out in their time of need. Thank you in advance for your support. This will be a donation that will truly make a difference. Below is a link to their website.

We have raised over $500 so far which is a great start, but I know there are enough veterans and supporters of our veterans I am connected to on LinkedIn to meet tackle this task. If everyone of my connections were to donate $10 the goal would be complete. I know that sounds too simple, but the truth is that it really is that simple. Every donation matters.
