Selfcare for teams: The Ultimate 2023 Guide.??
Tamara Beckford MD, MS
Helping women go from stressed and carrying extra weight to light, relaxed, and in control.
2023 is almost here. Now is the time for us to start thinking about how to best support our teams in 2023.?
The return on investment (ROI) for investing in programs for workers is, on average, $5.3 for every $1 spent. An incredible return.??
To make it easy for you, I have listed the 9 ways to improve the well-being of your employees in 2023.
Here is how to do it.
1. Set clear goals and stick to them. Ensure that you clarify the most important tasks to your employees, so they know where to focus. Clear is kind.
2. Encourage staff to take time off. This means going on vacation. Taking a day off without the expectation to “check-in” or hop on a call. Give your team time to unplug and model this behavior. But the best thing you can do is to lead by example. Even better, offer a day off when they least expect it.
3. Schedule regular 1:1s. Hold them sacred and listen more than you talk. Provide praise and ask how your employees are doing. This level of connection will show that you care about their well-being.
4. Start every meeting with gratitude. Make it normal for team members to recognize and thank one another. Model this behavior, and don't say, "nice job." Be specific, "Thank you for doing XXX thing; it made a difference for X reason"
5. Create mission moments.? When workers connect to their work, they’re more connected to the company and its purpose. This keeps them going on hard days. People do not want to work for a paycheck; they want to find meaning in what they do.
6. Ask for feedback. Start with two questions. What can I do better as a leader?? How can I best support you? All people want to feel heard. Take action with that feedback.
7. Be flexible. For example, if a working parent needs to manage childcare, allow that without guilt. Employers must give their employees leeway. A worker who feels trusted and not micromanaged will always do more than expected.??

8. Hire good people and trust them. Don’t micromanage tasks and create space for autonomy.
9. Offer wellness workshops. Implement wellness programs that allow employees to develop a personal self-care plan.
There you have it. What would you add?
Reply, I love to hear from you.
Always wishing you the best,

It’s a great feeling to be individually supported in a huge national corporation . VITAS Healthcare ??
