Self validation is one of the most important things we can learn in life. It's what allows us to feel good about ourselves , regardless of what others may think or say. When we validate our own selves, we're sending a message that we believe in ourselves and our abilities, no matter what. This can be an incredibly empowering feeling, and can help us to overcome challenges and setbacks with greater ease. Learning to self-validate can be a process, but with some practice it becomes easier and more natural over time.
This is an essential process to maintaining the life you desire. To live free from negative self talk or from continuing the cycle of habits that led you into your recovery journey to begin with. Learning to validate your own feelings and experiences can be a powerful tool in helping you stay on track with your recovery goals.
Self validation is key to creating a foundation of self-respect, which is essential for living a happy and fulfilling life.
So how can we go about validating ourselves?
There are many ways, but here are a few tips:
Acknowledging your Successes, Strengths and Progress
When we give ourselves credit for what we’ve done well, it builds our confidence to keep going. By understanding the importance of self-validation, you can set the stage for continuous growth in all areas of your life. What achievement are you most proud of? How have you grown as a result?
The next step is learning how to give that same courtesy to others. When we take the time to understand and appreciate what makes us unique, it becomes much easier to extend those sentiments outward.

We all want to feel valued and appreciated. So, when given the chance, make an effort for others as well! When we take the time to understand and appreciate what makes us unique, it becomes much easier for that same courtesy towards others.
Steps Toward Maintainability
You can learn how to regulate your thoughts by focusing on the present moment and not worrying about what might happen in the future or getting caught up on what happened in the past. It's often very easy for us - especially when we're stressed or anxious about something else going wrong - to slip into negative self-talk where all of these things start feeling worse than they actually are. This doesn’t help YOU deal with any immediate problems because it is only leaving room for wallowing in ‘what happened’ instead of focusing on what you’re grateful for in the current moment. What you’ve done that has helped you get to right here, right now.
When you know what makes you successful, it becomes much easier to repeat those behaviors and achieve similar results. By understanding how you work and what motivates you, you can set the stage for even greater success in the future.
As long as you keep moving forward, even if at a slow pace, you'll eventually get where you want to go. So give yourself credit for your accomplishments, no matter how small they may seem - because that's the first step on the road to maintainability!
