"Word matter. And the words that matter are the ones you say to yourself."
-David Taylor-Klaus
Self-talk is a serious condition. Mostly because it's the negative stuff you tell yourself that makes your life a misery, whether you know it or not!
We've all done it, me included. That little voice in our head that says, "I'm not good enough. I'm so clumsy. I'm such an imposter." And the rest...
Today I invite you to start over. Turn over a new page. Reframe your self-talk and start having more positive conversations with yourself.
Here are 5 uplifting self-talking points that will boost your confidence and give you something more empowering to talk about (to yourself and others):
Be Aware - first and foremost it's important to become more aware of your negative self-talk in order to recognise when you're doing it, catch yourself in time and replace the negative talk with more positive affirmations and thoughts.
Be more positive - there are many ways you can adopt a more positive attitude to life, others and yourself. Try surrounding yourself with the kind of friends and family that boost you up and want the best for you. Watch a funny show. Read an uplifting book or story. Learn to look on the bright side of life, a cup half full life is better than focusing on the worst possible outcome.

Boundaries - simple as that, learn to set and stick by your boundaries. Understand it's OK to say no and that you can't do everything all of the time. Appreciate yourself and your precious time. Setting healthy boundaries creates space in your life for more me-time, insights and precious memories.
Behaviour - how you behave is just as important as what you say to yourself as the both impact each other. If you tell yourself negative things, then you're more likely to behave that way too. Not taking care of yourself, getting frustrated with others all add to the mix. Lift your head up, shoulders back, smile. Speak more confidently, take your time.
Build a list - Write down your strengths, so you can remind yourself everyday just how freaking incredible you are! Be grateful by compiling the things in life that you are so grateful to hold dear. Make a list of the things you've achieved in your life. Make a list of your goals and desires, as a reminder of why you're doing what you are. The list is endless!
Self-talk, when made more positive, can have profound effects on your mental, physical, emotional and behavioural well-being. In fact, it's way to costly not to do it.
