How do we draw the line between self-pity and overachieving when pursuing our goals?
Currently, you may face two contrasting situations:
There’s definitely a way to navigate both of these scenarios once you understand what's really going on with you. We often face two types of resistance that push us into these situations:

Mental resistance: It’s when you initially get excited about an idea but later find reasons not to pursue it. For example, if you want to try a new field but a friend expresses doubts, you might postpone the idea indefinitely. This resistance is a cue to push yourself a bit and add proactivity by identifying clear reasons why you need this. Your task is to overcome internal resistance and expand your horizons.
Physical resistance: It’s when your mind is on board with a plan, but your body says "no." You've likely experienced this when there's no objective reason to stop, yet you just can’t push yourself to act. It's crucial to take a break and reflect on why you're experiencing this. Remember, your body is intuitive and picks up on a lot more than we give it credit for. Listening to it in time is crucial to avoid falling into the trap of burnout.
Finding a balance, practicing self-care, and being in tune with ourselves and our actions is key. However, if you find yourself facing either type of resistance and can't pinpoint the cause, seeking guidance from a mentor might be beneficial.
The secret to self-care lies in knowing when to stop yourself from pursuing what you don't need, and when to push through resistance and accomplish your objectives!
Absolutely resonate with this! ?? Aristotle once implied - excellence is a habit, not an act. Balancing passion with self-care is key to sustainability. #mindsetshift #growth ???

1 年Very interesting article! I think it's important to take care of our emotional and psychological health on a regular basis. Sometimes self pity can cause us to overachieve and then, we unfortunately become burnt out! But healthy self confidence is what we need to stay productive.
